Own Art

Georgia Stoneman

Georgia Stoneman trained in silversmithing and jewellery design at the Mid Cornwall School of Jewellery and London Metropolitan University’s internationally renowned Sir John Cass Department of Art, Media and Design. Daughter of the late master printer Hugh Stoneman, she was born and brought up in the creative environment of West Cornwall and now works in her father’s former studio, where she creates subtle yet striking jewellery using natural materials and timeless techniques.

Georgia works principally in silver and precious and semi-precious stones; each of her elegantly simple, hand-made pieces is entirely unique. Inspired by the unfussy methods of Breon O’Casey and Guy Royle, she prefers her designs to evolve naturally, exploring shape and movement with minimal interference. The end results are free, spare and organic, sometimes dramatic and sometimes understated, but always allowing the beauty of the materials to speak for itself.
