Emma McClure was born in 1962 and educated at Falmouth School of Art in 1980/81 before moving on to a BA Honours Degree in Painting at Winchester School of Art. In 1985 she completed her MA at Chelsea School of Art.
Emma has participated in many exhibitions throughout the country including the Contemporary Art Society (1988), Art for Sale, Art in Focus (1994), Royal Academy Summer Exhibition (1999) and Singer and Friedlander Sunday Times Watercolour Competition, Mall Gallery, 2003.
Emma currently lives in London but travels regularly to Cornwall to see family and to paint. She incorporates the impressions, images and motifs of her subjects into spacious and beautifully composed, serene scenes which have become highly sought after and much collected. Her seemingly simplistic, faux-naïve style complements both the aesthetic images and the subject of the paintings.
