John Brenton

John Brenton has established himself as a leading contemporary land and seascape artist. Over the past 20 years he has held regular solo and mixed exhibitions throughout the UK, including the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, and his paintings are now collected worldwide.

Born 1964 in Cornwall, John has dedicated his painting life to capturing the beauty and drama of coastline and countryside. Often to be found battling the elements en plein air whether it be on a Cornish cliff edge or in a tranquil Cotswold river valley, his paintings possess a vibrancy and energy that transport you to those evocative locations.

Predominantly working in oils, John employs a technique that uses both palette knife and brush, resulting in a richly textured, vibrant style for which he has become renowned.
