Sarah Poland

Sarah Poland was born in Scotland and studied at Edinburgh College of Art before moving to Cornwall in 2001.

"Sarah, whose work has a strong emphasis on the physicality of oil paint, creates pictures that are initially abstracted from the artist's memory of a place or experience, contextualised by an innate response to the ancient landscape of West Penwith, and re-articulated by free-flowing, spontaneous and improvised marks into paintings which essentially mythologise the notions behind their creation.
